The present writ application has been preferred on the ground that there is in action on the part of the respondent/Registrar, office of the Registrar of Trade Union, Government of West Bengal.

It is submitted that as per Section 23 of the Bengal Trade Union Regulations, 1927, the petitioner is entitled to get a certified copy of the documents/records maintained by the Office of the Registrar of Trade Union.

It is submitted that in spite of submitting an application through the petitioner's advocate on 02.05.2025, no action has been taken by the Registrar.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the State that the application submitted is through the

advocate of the petitioner and the same is not maintainable as per the said relevant provision of law. Considering the submission of the learned counsel for the State and on perusal of the relevant provision of law, it appears that the petitioner herein has not applied in person for the said copies but has made the application through his advocate which is not as per the provisions.

The writ application is accordingly disposed of with liberty granted to the petitioner herein to make necessary application, and the authorities concerned are directed to dispose of the same in accordance with law, expeditiously.

The writ application stands disposed of.
