The petitioner prays for a direction upon the Officer-in-Charge, Ramnagar Police Station to ensure safe entry of the petitioner to her matrimonial home situated at Balasore, Odisha.

The petitioner filed a representation before the District Magistrate, Purba Medinipore, the Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipore and the Officer-in-Charge, Ramnagar Police Station.

It is submitted on behalf of the respondents that the petitioner filed a complaint before the Kamarda Police Station, Balasore and an FIR under Section 498A,/323/294/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

The Officer-in-Charge, Ramnagar Police Station has filed a report. It appears that the petitioner is now

living in her father's house. The allegation of threat was not found to be correct.

Under such circumstances, the prayer of the petitioner for a direction upon the West Bengal Police, especially the Officer-in-Charge, Ramnagar Police Station to open the lock in her matrimonial house situated at Odisha, cannot be permitted as the matrimonial home is beyond the jurisdiction of this Court. However, the police authorities shall ensure the safety and security of the petitioner and her son at Rautrapur under Ramnagar Police Station.

This order shall not prevent the petitioner from taking appropriate steps, before the appropriate forum. This writ petition is disposed of.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
