of Rabindra Bharati University.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the University fairly submits that, in the year 2015, the University forwarded a draft set of service rules to the Higher Education Department. After incorporating certain modifications, the Higher Education Department returned the draft rules to the University on July 4, 2016. In view of the judgment passed in WPA 22027 of 2022, it is now necessary to further amend the rules, particularly by extending the retirement age of accompanist teachers from 60 to 65 years.

It is further submitted that, owing to certain administrative challenges, meetings of the Executive Council are not being held on a regular basis. Consequently, the University requires additional time to make appropriate revisions to the proposed draft service rules.

In light of the above, the University is granted a period of three months to carry out the necessary modifications and resubmit the draft service rules to the Higher Education Department for its approval. Upon receipt of the revised draft, the Higher Education Department shall take appropriate steps within a further period of one month.

Accordingly, WPA 10804 of 2025 is disposed of.
