Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner argues that, initially, resistance was being put up by the private respondents regarding supply of electric connection to the petitioner's premises by the W.B.S.E.D.C.L. However, subsequently, the private respondents communicated to the W.B.S.E.D.C.L. their consent regarding the electric connection being given to the petitioner. It is submitted that, merely due to pendency of the matter before this Court, the W.B.S.E.D.C.L.

is hesitant in giving such new connection.

Such stand, in all fairness, is supported by learned counsel appearing for the W.B.S.E.D.C.L. Despite service, none appears for the private respondents. Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be kept on record.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances, it is evident that, at the present juncture, there is no impediment in giving new electric connection to the petitioner.

Accordingly, W.P.A. No. 11752 of 2021 is allowed, thereby directing the respondent nos. 1 and 2 to provide new electric connection to the petitioner on the basis of the petitioner's application, in accordance with law, by the midnight of November 15, 2021.

It is made clear that, in the event of any resistance being put up to such connection being given, the respondent nos. 1 and 2 are at liberty to approach the respondent no. 3, being the Officer-in-Charge, Singur Police Station, for providing appropriate police assistance required to give such connection.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
