Pursuant to the order of a Co-ordinate Bench of this Hon'ble Court passed on May 20, 2025, the respondent No.2 has filed a report through the respondent No.3. Let a copy of such report be kept on record.

Bereft of the allegation made in the writ petition, by a person who is himself under scrutiny, it appears from the report that the society has not maintained its books of accounts in any form or format since the financial year 2018-19. Audit queries made by the concerned Auditor was not complied with and the inspecting teams were unable to

complete the inspection or the Audit, in view of insufficiency and inadequacy of documents.

In the circumstances aforestated, the concerned Registrar is directed to cause an enquiry under Section 100 of the West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 2006, within a period of eight weeks from date and take appropriate steps in respect thereto, if so required.

With the aforestated direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

6. Since affidavits have not been called for, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed to have been denied. 7.
