Learned lawyer appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. The statements of witnesses show that the petitioner and the co-accused assaulted the victim and strangulated him to death.

In view of the aforesaid facts and prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged crime, we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected.
