1. Matter is taken up for consideration pursuant to the order dated 18th June, 2026 when Mr.

Dhiraj Trivedi, learned Deputy Solicitor General has placed before this court one communication dated 25th June, 2026 of Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI, EOB, Kolkata and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 25th June, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing State Bank of India.

2. It is disclosed in the communication dated 25th June, 2026 that Government of West Bengal has given its consent under Section 6 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946 (hereinafter referred to as 'said Act of 1946') on

8th June, 2026 for investigation of cases or classes of offences notified under Section 3 of the said Act of 1946.

Subsequently, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India has also issued notification under Section 5 of said Act of 1946 on 13th June, 2026.

3. In view of steps taken by the concerned authority of Union of India, State Bank of India shall be at liberty to approach the appropriate authority for seeking necessary permission.

4. Writ petition stands disposed of.

5. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
