Mr. Ramdulal Manna Ms. Manju Manna(Dey) Mr. Sabyasachi Mondal Mr. Sayan Mukherjee ....for the petitioner Ms. Chandreyi Alamh ....for the UOI The only question is whether the petitioner being the unmarried and unemployed daughter of her father who is a recipient of Freedom Fighters Scheme, is entitled to the pension. The petitioner's mother predeceased her father. The Report of the District Magistrate, Purba Medinipur is on record.

The Report contains several documents which show the correspondence exchanged between the State respondents with regard to the entitlement of the petitioner and consequent directions for taking necessary action in that regard.

The Union of India is represented.

WPA 12374 of 2017 along with all connected applications are disposed of with a direction on the Union of India being the Secretary, Ministry of Home

Affairs, Government of India, to dispose of the petitioner's entitlement to the pension upon treating the Report of the District Magistrate, Purba Medinipur as a representation reflecting the stand taken by the State respondent. The Union of India is directed to take necessary steps in the matter of disposing of the writ petitioner's claim within a period of four weeks from date. If the petitioner is found to be entitled to the Freedom Fighters Pension Scheme, the Union of India shall take steps to disburse the same within a further period of four weeks from the date on which the application of the petitioner is decided. The Union of India will also consider whether the petitioner is entitled to interest for the delayed payment, if the petitioner is found to be entitled for the same.
