The petitioner prays for a direction upon the respondents to dispose of the gratuity case being case No.G-236/16 (Shantilata Panda vs. Calcutta Jute Manufacturing Co. Ltd.) within a specified period of time.

The petitioner submits that the petitioner's husband was employed with the private respondent from January 1, 1975 and was discharged upon superannuation on July 23, 2013. The petitioner's claim for gratuity is still pending.

Having considered the submissions made by the learned counsels for the parties and material on record I dispose of the writ petition with a direction upon the respondent no.2 to dispose of the gratuity case, as mentioned above, within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order, upon granting an opportunity of hearing to all the affected parties including the petitioner, in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 11793 of 2021 is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.

Since no affidavit in opposition is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted.
