Mr. Sobhan Majumder Mr. Asis Dutta .....for the petitioner Mrs. Tapati Samanta .......for the State The issue involved in this writ petition pertains to appointment of Muslim Marriage Registrar under Shasan Police Station, DistrictNorth 24 Parganas. It has been contended on behalf of the petitioner that he participated in the selection process for being appointed as Muslim Marriage Registrar but the selection was not finalized by appointing a candidate as Muslim Marriage Registrar. It is also submitted that villagers made a representation to the concerned respondent authorities for appointing the petitioner as Muslim Marriage Registrar and such representation is at page 25 of the writ petition.
However, the learned advocate representing the State respondents has produced documents wherefrom it appears that one Md. Bakibillah has been appointed as Muslim Marriage Registrar under Shasan Police
Station on temporary basis.
The said documents are taken on record.
In this regard, an order was issued on 18th July, 2016 by the District Registrar, North 24 Parganas. In support of granting license to said Md.
Bakibillah, another Memo has been produced on behalf of the State respondents which is dated 27th September, 2016. From the said Memo dated 27th September, 2016 it appears that necessary license was granted in favour of said Md. Bakibillah.
In view of appointment of another candidate as Muslim Marriage Registrar under Shasan Police Station, North 24 Parganas, the writ petition stands disposed of thereby granting leave to the petitioner to take steps in accordance with law against appointment of another candidate as Muslim Marriage Registrar under Shasan Police Station.
There shall be, however, no order as to costs.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertakings.
