Affidavit-of-service filed in court today be kept on record.

None appears for the private respondents despite service, although the CESC Limited and the petitioner are represented through counsel.

Despite the petitioner having applied for electricity connection and in terms of the offer issued by the CESC Limited paid the requisites, no electricity connection has been given, apparently due to resistance by the private respondents. By filing the writ petition, the petitioner seeks such electricity connection.

Learned counsel for the CESC Limited corroborates such contention inasmuch as due to resistance by the private respondents and their men and agents, no connection could be given to the petitioner, although the CESC Limited is agreeable to do so.

In such view of the matter, WPA 11999 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to give electricity connection to the petitioner at the existing meter board position of the premises-inquestion within a fortnight from date. 6.

In the event any resistance is put up by the private respondents and/or their men and agents, it will be open to the CESC personnel to approach respondent no.5, the Officer-In-Charge of the New Alipore Police Station, for adequate police assistance which will be given by the said respondent by acting on a server copy of this order at the cost of the petitioner, if necessary removing any padlock or other hindrance if put up to resist the CESC personnel in the process.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
