Petitioner renews his prayer for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record including the statement of the victim girl who states that the petitioner administered deleterious substance through sweets and sexually assaulted her.

In view of the aforesaid materials on record including gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, trial court is requested to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Ananya Bandyopadhyay,J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
