1. By way of filing this public interest litigation petition the petitioner wants the Dumurjala Indoor Stadium to be open for public which is closed for renovation. Several photographs have been annexed to the writ petition which show that the said stadium is being used for storage of garbage collection vans, bins etc. in the name of repair/reconstruction. This obviously is not the purpose for which the said indoor stadium is constructed. The concerned authority, namely, the Howrah Municipal Corporation should take immediate action for speedy repairing/renovation work and open the stadium for usage of the public.

2. Learned advocate for the Howrah Municipal Corporation submits that the repair/renovation work will take six months time.

3. In the aforesaid facts and circumstances, there will be a direction on the Howrah Municipal

Corporation to complete the repair/renovation work of the Dumurjala Indoor Stadium as soon as possible and open the same for usage of the public within a period of six months from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order. The above direction be implemented if there is no legal impediment such as interim order passed by any Court of Law.

4. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
