AD 62 June 9, 2026 Ct. 28 SG CRM(A) 1467 of 2026 Reject An application for anticipatory bail under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 in connection with Saktipur P.S. Case No.12 of 2024 dated 17.01.2024 under Sections 188/286/326/307 of the IPC.

And In the matter of: Ranjit @ Ranjan Das ... petitioner Mr. Malay Bhattacharya Mr. Subhrajyoti Ghosh ... for the petitioner Mr. Suman Das Mr. Brajesh Jha Mr. Somnath Bera ... for the State Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's 15 year old son died from accidental bursting of firecrackers. The petitioner's wife also suffered injuries. The petitioner is not at all responsible for the said injury or for the death of the child.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail, relies on the case diary, the statements of witnesses, the post-mortem report and the injury report and submits that proclamation and attachment has been issued against the petitioner.

Considering the above, the other incriminating materials available in the case diary, the delay in approaching this Court and the fact that proclamation and attachment have

already been issued, I do not consider this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail.

The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
