Petitioner Mr. Shibaji Kumar Das, ... for the petitioner Mr. Avik Ghatak, Mr. Soham De Dhara, ... for the opposite party No. 2 In this revisional application, the petitioner prays for expeditious disposal of the trial being S. C. No. 45 of 2021, pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court-II at Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas under Sections 498A/494/420/120(B)/307/313/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that after commitment of the case, the date for framing of charge has been fixed in the last week of August of this year. Mr. Avik Ghatak, learned advocate appears on behalf of the de-facto complainant/opposite party No. 2 and submits that his client is willing to participate in the proceeding without seeking any adjournment.

Ms. Sukanya Bhattacharyya, learned advocate has been requested to appear on behalf of the State in this matter. Let the appointment of Ms. Bhattacharyya be regularised. It is not expected from the learned Judge in the Court below to proceed with the trial in usual pace due to pandemic situation.

However, keeping in mind the nature of the prayer, this revisional application is disposed with a direction upon the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court-II, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas, to make an endeavour to conclude the trial within a period one and a half years after the resumption of the normal functioning of the Court. The revisional application being C.R.R. 1502 of 2021 is, thus, disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance with all necessary formalities.
