1. Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record.
2. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on January 31, 2024. He received his terminal benefits of Rs.
63,39,171/- toward provident fund on February 11, 2025 and Rs.3,81,525/- towards part payment on leave encashment and gratuity on December 2, 2024.
3. The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from February 01, 2024 to February 11, 2025,
at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards provident fund and from February 1, 2024 to December 2, 2024 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards gratuity and leave encashment. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.
4. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.
5. The writ petition is disposed of.
6. There will be no order as to costs.
7. All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
