Learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record including the statement of the victim girl prima facie implicating the petitioner in subjecting the minor to penetrative sexual assault. Trial is in progress. In view of the aforesaid facts and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. The application for bail is thus rejected.

However, learned trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date preferably within six months from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
