Ayoma Kalyani Rawat v. State Of West Bengal And ANR
01.05.2024
IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA
Item No.111 CRIMINAL REVISIONAL JURISDICTION Ct.No.34 dc.
C.R.R. 1801 of 2024 In the matter of : Smt. Ayoma Kalyani Rawat ... Petitioner. Mr. Avik Ghatak, Ms. Sutapa Dutt, Ms. Afreen Begum ... For the Petitioner.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that application under Section 18 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 was preferred on 09.02.2024. The said application is pending and in all fairness, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that no application under Section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act has been preferred by the petitioner.
Having regard to the pendency of the case and the approach of the opposite party, I direct that the learned trial court would dispose of the application on the next date i.e. on 18.05.2024 or within a fortnight thereafter. No further adjournment be granted on frivolous reasons or simply change of advocates which has been complained by the learned advocate for the petitioner as the mode and manner adopted for stretching the proceedings by the opposite party/husband.
With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 1801 of 2024 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.
All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
