AGP Ms. Munmun Ganguly ... for the State-respondent(s) The petitioner earlier contended before this Court that she had been thrown out by her son and daughter-inlaw. To that effect, a report was called for. The Inspector-in-charge of Bhadreswar police station through the learned advocate for the State has submitted a report which reflects that the petitioner occasionally used to visit her parental house as well as brother Bikash Pal's house at Bhawanipur Haritala, Jirat, Balagarh, Hooghly.

However, on an enquiry from the locals, it was confirmed that she usually

stays peacefully at her residence without any trouble from her son as also daughter-in-law.

Such contention in the report is disputed by the learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner.

In case, there is any obstruction created upon the petitioner while staying at her residence, the police authorities would render appropriate assistance for a period of one month from date.

The petitioner within a period of one month will approach the SDO under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

If any direction is passed by the SDO, the police authorities would respect, obey and would be bound by the said order.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 12151 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
