1. The petitioner is functioning as a temporary Mohammedan Marriage Registrar and has made a representation to the respondent-authorities for being appointed as a permanent Marriage Registrar.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner relies on a communication dated January 08, 2024 annexed at page-20 (Annexure P5) of the writ petition, whereby similar relief as the petitioner was granted to a different person allegedly on equal footing, till she attains the age of 68 years.

3. In view of the innocuous nature of the prayer, WPA No. 12163 of 2024 is taken up for hearing and is hereby disposed of by directing the respondent no. 3, that is, the Inspector General of Registration & Commissioner of Stamp Revenue, West Bengal to consider the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P2 at page14 of the writ petition) and decide on the same preferably within six weeks from date. Immediately

thereafter, the respondent no. 3 shall communicate the outcome of such consideration to the petitioner in writing. While making the said consideration, the respondent no. 3 shall also take into account Annexure P5 at page-20 of the instant writ petition.

4. The petitioner shall communicate the gist of this order and a further copy of the writ petition to the respondent no. 3 for the purpose of compliance of this order.

5. There will be no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
