Mr. Sarwar Jahan Mr. Sayantan Hazra Ms. Sahina Parvin ..for the Petitioner Affidavit of service filed by the petitioners is taken on record.

The respondents are not represented despite service.

The petitioners who are members of Pardeonapur Sovapur Gram Panchayat submitted no confidence motions against the Pradhan and Upapradhan respectively before the prescribed authority, being the 6th respondent herein on May 12, 2026.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that no step has been taken by the 6th respondent pursuant to the said requisitions in terms of Section 12 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act of 1973").

In view of the provisions laid down under Section 12 of the Act of 1973, the 6th respondent is directed to take necessary steps in terms of the said provision

within the prescribed time limit as laid down in the Act itself.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
