Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that there has been recovery of 771 grams of brown sugar and there has been no progress in the case, petitioner is unnecessarily languishing in jail for the last 1 year 3 months. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that out of 7 witnesses proposed to be examined, 2 witnesses have been examined and all efforts are being taken by the prosecution to conclude the trial.

In view of the nature of recovery of contraband, Section 37 of the NDPS Act is attracted. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM(NDPS) 590 of 2025 is dismissed. State is directed to expedite the trial.
