12.05.2023 Ct. No. 29 KAUSHIK REJECTED C.R.M.(A) 1962 of 2023 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Bhimpur Police Station Case No. 391 of 2022 dated 02.10.2022 under Sections 448/326/326A/307 of the Indian Penal Code.

And In Re : Swapan Biswas ...... petitioner Mr. Prabir Majumder ....for the petitioner Mr. Saibal Bapuli Mr. Arijit Ganguly Mr. Avik Ghatak ....for the State The victim recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.P.C.), where she says that the petitioner poured petrol on her.

The injury report corroborates her statement. The victim suffered burn injuries.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 1962 of 2023 is dismissed.
