1. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have already preferred a second appeal before the second appellate authority under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (2005 Act).

2. The grievance of the petitioners is that the same is kept pending for quite some time.

3. Learned counsel for the second appellate authority contends that the appeal has been

filed only recently and reasonable time be given to the second appellate authority to decide the said appeal.

4. Accordingly, WPA No. 12264 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 4, that is, the State Information Commission, State of West Bengal, to dispose of the second appeal filed by the petitioners annexed at page 59 of the writ petition as expeditiously as possible, positively within August 31, 2024, in accordance with law and upon giving due notice to all concerned.

5. There will be no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
