1. The petitioners claim to be the employees of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) and allottees of staff quarters in the township of Chittaranjan, which is under the charge of an Area Committee. The petitioners say that the residents of these Areas Committees who are the staff/officers and employees of the CLW Administration elect their representatives as "Street Members" for five years and the elected "Street Members" thereafter elect the Vice-Warden. Each of the Area Committees is headed by Warden and two Assistant Wardens nominated by the General Manager. The petitioners are aggrieved by an amendment brought about by CLW for the ensuing elections pertaining to the Area Committee of the CLW Township.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners made several representations, the last of which was made to the General Manager, CLW on 3rd May, 2023.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the CLW hands up a document of 9th May, 2023 which has responded to the representation dated 3rd May, 2023 and clarified the issues made in the representation.

4. Since the petitioners' last representation has already been addressed, nothing further remains in the writ petition.

5. W.P.A.11398 of 2023 is accordingly disposed of in terms of the above.

6. Since counsel for the petitioners submits that the response of CLW did not consider the Women and Minority Committee's representation, CLW is directed to consider this part of the representation and shall dispose it of with a decision to be communicated to the petitioners within seven days from date.
