Affidavit-of-service filed by the petitioner and the documents filed by the private respondents in Court today be kept of record.

Although none appears for the State, the petitioner and the private respondent nos. 4 to 7 are represented through counsel when the matter is called on for hearing.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the private respondents perpetrated several criminal acts against the petitioner for which complaints were lodged with the police authorities.

Learned counsel for the petitioner places particular reliance on a representation given by the petitioner, which is annexed at page 41 (AnnexureP/7 of the writ petition. It is contended that despite such representation and complaints, the police authorities are not taking due steps.

Learned counsel appearing for the private respondents submits that the police have already started investigation against the private respondents on the basis of the complaints of the petitioner and charge-sheet has been submitted in connection with the said case. However, it is further submitted that the respondent nos. 5, 6 and 7 are now on bail pursuant to orders of the competent court.

Upon perusal of the said documents, filed by learned counsel for the private respondents in support of his contentions, I am satisfied that due investigation was not only started by the police authorities, but a charge-sheet has already been filed in connection with the criminal case initiated against the private respondents on such score. As such, the grievance raised by the petitioner in the present writ petition does not survive.

Accordingly, WPA No. 11953 of 2021 is disposed of with the expectation that the criminal proceedings pending before the trial court against the private respondents be expedited.

There will be no order as to costs.
