1. Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing petitioner and State respondents.

Learned advocate representing petitioner expresses dissatisfaction with regard to steps taken by the concerned police authorities while investigating Gaighata Police Station Case No.993/24 dated 2nd November, 2024. It is submitted that respondent no. 5 is yet to be arrested and as such direction is prayed for in this writ petition upon the concerned police authority to take steps in order to arrest said respondent no. 5.

3. Learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 2nd July, of Inspector-in-Charge, Gaighata Police Station, North 24 Parganas

and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 2nd July, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing petitioner.

It is disclosed in the communication dated 2nd July, 2026 that on completion of investigation in Gaighata Police Station Case No.993/24 dated 2nd November, 2024 charge sheet was filed being Gaighata Police Station Charge Sheet No. 376/26 dated 30th May, 2026. It is also disclosed in the communication that charge sheet was filed against FIR named two accused persons and prayer was submitted for issuance of summons against respondent no.

5. In view of steps taken by the investigating agency petitioner needs to approach jurisdictional Magistrate in accordance with law. After filing of aforesaid charge sheet present writ petition ought not to be entertained.

6. Hence, writ petition stands dismissed.

7. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
