Mr. Rudradipta Nandy Mr. Sujan Chatterjee ... For the State The petitioner is the husband of the deceased/ victim and is in custody for more than 200 days. Charges have been framed. The petitioner prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record. Statement of witnesses recorded under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure implicates the petitioner in the alleged offence. Post Mortem report supports the prosecution case. It appears that the petitioner used to reside with the victim in the house where the victim died.

Considering the gravity of offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected at this stage.

The application is disposed of.
