The Secretary, West Bengal Board of Primary Education has forwarded the instruction wherefrom it appears that the petitioners applied in response to the notification published by the Board on 23rd December, 2020 as B.Ed. trained candidates.

The petitioners failed to come within the zone of consideration for enlistment in the State Wide merit list because their respective scores were less than the last merit listed candidates in their respective categories. The total score of the petitioner No.1, Moumita Ghosh is 24.342 whereas the score of the last empanelled candidate in the said category is 28.330.

The total score of the petitioner No.2 Himadri Das as SC category candidate is 24.435 whereas the score of the last empanelled candidate in the said category is 25.759.

As the petitioners scored marks less than the last empanelled candidate, their names did not figure in the list of selected candidates.

There is no reason for interference in the instant petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. The instruction given by the Secretary, West Bengal Board of Primary Education dated 27th April, 2022, be retained with the records.

Urgent certified photo copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
