The petitioner was serving in the Indian Bank. Challenging the order of dismissal passed against him on 19th November, 2025, a statutory appeal was filed by him on 28th January, 2026.

Allegation is that the same has not been disposed of till date. It has been submitted that the statutory period for disposal of the appeal is 90 days. The said time period has expired.

Prayer has been made to direct the Appellate Authority of the Bank to disposed of the appeal. 4.

Learned advocate representing the Bank admits pendency of the appeal. It has been submitted that as the charge against the petitioner is regarding defalcation of fund, it will take some time for the Appellate Authority to decide the appeal.

Upon hearing the submissions made on behalf of the parties and on perusal of the documents annexed to the writ petition, it is evident that an appeal against the order of dismissal is pending consideration before the Appellate Authority since January 2026. It is high time that the said appeal is disposed of by the Appellate Authority.

The instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Appellate Authority to consider and dispose of the appeal in accordance with law at the earliest and communicate the fate of the appeal to the petitioner without any further delay.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
