The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition being aggrieved by the inaction of the respondent authorities in failing to take steps to inspect the ferrule supply municipal water to petitioner's premise and to undertake measures to ensure water supply to the said premises.

It is the case of the petitioner that he has been the lawful tenant of 18 Rabindra Sarani, Liluah, Howrah, also known as 1 Netaji Subhas Road, Liluah, falling under Borough V, Ward No. 31 of Bally Municipality, since 1970. The said premises had a water connection; however, for the past month, he has not been receiving any water supply. The petitioner states that he submitted representations
dated 07.04.2025 and 13.05.2025 to the respondent, Bally Municipality, but no action has been taken on them.

Ms. Debasree Dhamali, Learned Counsel for the respondent-Bally Municipality, states that in the representations dated 13.05.2025 and 07.04.2025, the petitioner has mentioned two different addresses, and that their does not exist any Borough in Bally Municipality.

In view of the above submission, learned counsel for the petitioner states that he will submit a fresh representation with the correct address to the Bally Municipality within one week. If the petitioner makes such a representation within the specified time, the Bally Municipality shall consider it within ten days thereafter, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner or any other stakeholder, and shall pass a reasoned speaking order.

With the above direction, the present writ petition is disposed of.

Since no affidavits have been filed by the respondents, the allegations made in the writ petition shall not be deemed to have been admitted.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Let urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
