At the outset learned counsel for the respondent Kolkata Municipal Corporation tenders an unconditional apology for not adhering to the timeline given in the order dated 8.4.2025 for deciding the petitioner's representation dated 6.7.2024. 2.

Apology tendered by the department is accepted. Since the department had decided the petitioners' representation dated 6.7.2024 vide order dated 21.1.2026 nothing survives for adjudication in the present contempt application. Though it is noted that the department had concluded that the toilet portion in the property is illegal and the same shall be demolished by the concerned person within 30 days.

It is expected that the department will ensure strict compliance with the order passed by the department dated 2.1.2026 and that the above-mentioned unauthorised portion is demolished in accordance with law and as directed by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Nothing survives in the present contempt application and the same is disposed of.
