The petitioner who is the Pradhan of Sripur-II Gram Panchayat has assailed the requisition notice initiated by the private respondents who are members of the Panchayat on 13th May, 2026 and the subsequent notice of meeting issued by the prescribed authority and Block Development Officer, Ratua-II Development Block, Malda.

Learned counsel for the private respondents candidly submits that the requisition suffers from irregularities since stigmatic remarks have been made therein. The requisition and the subsequent notice of meeting are required to be set aside. The private respondents seek to take fresh steps in this regard before the concerned authority.

In view of the above, the requisition dated 13th May, 2026 and the subsequent notice of hearing dated 19th May, 2026 are set aside/quashed.

The private respondents shall be at liberty to move a fresh motion on the same cause of action, if so advised. The writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
