Acharya (Divisional Manager), WBSEDCL Mr. Moyukh Mukherjee Ms. Sagnika Banerjee Ms. Sarmistha Basak ... for the petitioner This is an application wherein petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of the proceedings in connection with ST Case No. 07 (11)/16 presently pending before learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Baruipur. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that in the instant case after completion of investigation charge-sheet submitted in the year 2013 and the charge was framed in the year 2016. It is further submitted that the court below has started recording evidence of the witnesses in the year 2019 and since then only two witnesses have been examined out of total ten witnesses.

Therefore, she prayed for a direction upon the court below for expeditious disposal of the above-mentioned sessions case. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, it appears that the prayer made by the petitioner is innocuous and, if it is allowed in terms of the prayer made in the petition, the opposite party will have no cause to prejudice and as such, service of copy of application upon the opposite party is dispensed with.

In such circumstances, the instant application being CRR 2260 of 2025 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the court below to make every endeavour for expeditious disposal of the trial and if possible by conducting day to day trial and he will make his best effort to conclude the entire proceeding preferably within a period of six months from the next date of hearing. This order is passed invoking this Court's jurisdiction under section 529 of the BNSS.
