Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

The victim committed suicide within eleven days of marriage. The suicide was committed at her paternal home. There are statements recorded under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure suggesting that the petitioner was involved in torturing the victim on demand for dowry.

There are materials in the case diary suggesting that the victim was called by her husband prior to the victim committing suicide.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.

C.R.M. (A) 1990 of 2023 is dismissed.
