The grievance of the petitioner is directed against a communication dated 14.06.2022 whereby the petitioner's claim for compensation on account of her deceased husband on the alleged ground of electrocution has been rejected.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that her husband had died due to electrocution and she is entitled to compensation.

On behalf of the WBSEDCL, it is submitted that the compensation has been duly considered and the Appropriate Authority has arrived at a finding that the petitioner had died when obtaining electricity by means of direct hooking.

A perusal of the impugned communication suggests that the same is adequately reasoned. The Appropriate Authority has duly considered the case of the petitioner and come to a finding that there is no fault of the WBSEDCL. There is a conclusive finding to this effect.

In such circumstances, there is no illegality, nor perversity, nor contravention of any law in the impugned order which warrants any interference in this jurisdiction, WPA 12488 of 2024 stands dismissed.

Liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a civil suit, if so advised in accordance with law. (RAVI KRISHAN KAPUR, J.)
