Mr. Kaushik Choudhury, Mr. Dwaipayan Panda ...for the petitioner In this application the petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of the Protest Petition (Narazi Petition) filed by her on 24.02.2025.
Being aggrieved by the inordinate delay caused in disposal of the said application, learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that after completion of investigation in respect of petitioner's complaint, the police submitted final report in the form of closure of investigation on 18th January, 2025. Being informed about the submission of the final report, the petitioner herein filed a protest petition on 24th February, 2025. Since then several dates were fixed by the Court below but the protest petition has not yet been disposed of. Accordingly, he prayed for necessary direction upon the Court below for expeditious disposal of the said application. Having heard learned Counsel for the petitioner, it appears that the prayer made by the petitioner is innocuous and if it is allowed in terms of the prayer made in the application, the opposite parties will have no cause to prejudice, and, as such, service of
copy of application upon the opposite parties is hereby dispensed with.
Having considered the statement made on behalf of the petitioner and that the protest petition filed by the petitioner is pending for disposal for about one and half years, I find that the prayer made by the petitioner is justified and required to be allowed to secure the ends of justice.
In view of above, the instant application being CRR 2199 of 2026 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the Court below to dispose of petitioner's protest petition on the next date, i.e. on 29.08.2026 or preferably within a period of 30 days thereafter.
