Mr. Gunjan Shah, Ms. Shreya Agarwal ...for the petitioner In this application the petitioner has prayed for a direction upon the Court below for expeditious disposal of the interim maintenance application filed by the petitioner. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner being a hapless lady filed an application seeking interim maintenance on 28th January, 2025. Since then about one and half years have already passed but the said application has not yet been disposed of by the Court below. Accordingly he prayed for necessary direction.

Having heard learned Counsel for the petitioner, it appears that the prayer made by the petitioner is innocuous and if it is allowed in terms of the prayer made in the application, the opposite party will have no cause to prejudice and, as such, service of copy of application upon the opposite party is dispensed with. Having considered submission made on behalf of the petitioner and that the interim maintenance application is pending for disposal for about one and half years, I find that the prayer made by the petitioner is justified and required to be allowed to secure the ends of justice.

In view of above, the instant application being CRR 2250 of 2026 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the Court below to dispose of the petitioner's prayer for interim maintenance application on the next date, i.e. on 20th August, 2026 or within a period of one month thereafter.
