Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than two years. He was residing at Bangalore when the alleged incident occurred and has no nexus with the occurrence. He is the husband of the deceased and prays for bail. Learned counsel for the State and the defacto complainant oppose the prayer.

I have considered the material on record.

Bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down by this Court on 20th September, 2023. In the said order this Court has recorded the frequent phone calls between the petitioner and the co-accused on the date of occurrence and money transfers between them. The petitioner is in custody for about two years. Offences, if proved, shall attract mandatory life imprisonment.

Considering the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
