It is submitted that petitioner has been enlarged on bail in another case involving similar allegations.
Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the petitioner was involved in theft of petroleum. He has criminal antecedents.
Learned lawyer for the de facto complainant also opposes the prayer for bail.
We have considered evidence on record. Statements of witnesses and other materials including recovery of oil from the petitioner prima facie show involvement of the petitioner in the crime. He has criminal antecedents.
In view of the aforesaid facts, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected. (Ananya Bandyopadhyay, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
