Despite service, none appears on behalf of the Staterespondents. Affidavit-of-service is taken on record. Considered the police report. It appears that some progress has been made with regard to the investigation pursuant to the complaint filed by the petitioner. Yet, the police authorities must take further expeditious steps to complete the investigation. Madhyamgram Police Station Case No.250 of 2022 dated May 20, 2022 was started under Sections 420/467/470/471/34 of the Indian Penal Code, against the respondent Nos.10 and 11. The petitioners were asked to appear before the police authorities upon issuance of notices under Sections 91 and 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Documents have been seized. Bank statements

and other documents relating to the business transactions between the petitioner and the respondent No.10, who are allegedly partners, have also been seized.

Under such circumstances, the police authorities are directed to take immediate steps in order to unearth the truth and reach the investigation to its logical conclusion, in the manner provided under the law. The Superintendent of Police, North 24-Pargans having his office at Barasat, shall monitor the investigation.

The observations made herein and disposal of the writ petition, shall not affect the rights of the parties, before any other appropriate forum.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
