1. The grievance of the petitioner was that the petitioner's application under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (2005 Act) was not responded to by the respondent authorities.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent authorities hands over a photocopy of a communication indicating that replies have been given to the queries. The photocopy of the communication handed over in Court be kept on record.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that satisfactory replies have not been given to some of the queries.

4. However, the cause of action regarding inaction on the part of the respondent

authorities, which was the premise of the present writ petition, has been rendered academic by replies having been given by the respondent authorities. As such, the remedy of the petitioner now lies by way of a first appeal before the appropriate authority under the 2005 Act against such replies.

5. Accordingly, WPA No. 12644 of 2024 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the first appellate authority under the Right to Information Act, 2005, if aggrieved by any of the replies given by the respondent authorities to the queries of the petitioner.

6. There will be no order as to costs.

7. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
