An affidavit is filed on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE), let it be kept with the record.

The petitioner no.1 is a society, represented by the petitioner no.2.

The petitioner no.1 is running a Law College under the name and style of 'R3 College of Education', claiming to be a college affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The petitioner no. 1 intends to start the B.Ed., additional course and for its recognition for the said course, had applied to NCTE in terms of Section 14 of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 but same was rejected on the grounds that the said application was not in proper form and that the petitioner no.1 has failed to provide the required 'no objection certificate' from the affiliated University.

Mr. Chatterjee, learned advocate for the petitioners submits that after the rejection of the said application, the petitioner no.1 has obtained the required 'no objection certificate' from the affiliated University, as such the petitioners intend to apply afresh.

The rejection of the prayer by the NCTE does not demand any interference.

The petitioner is at liberty to apply afresh in accordance with law.

If such an application is filed, the NCTE shall consider the same in accordance with law.

WPA 12659 of 2024 is thus disposed of without any order as to costs.
