APP Ms. Mausumi Sarkar ...... for the State Petitioner is in custody for three years. He prays for bail. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. He submits that petitioner had assaulted the victim housewife. Subsequently, she died.

We have considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing the role of the petitioner in assaulting the victim housewife resulting in her death. In view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. However, we request the trial court to conclude the trial at an early date.
