1. The writ petitioners are applicants for issuance of route permit for a route Chowhati More to Piyarabagan via Dhamaitala. The applications have been made pursuant to notification of vacancies of 27th June, 2024. They approached the Writ court complaining that their application have not been considered. The Writ Court has passed a direction to the respondent RTA, Alipore, South 24 Parganas to consider the rest of the pending applications of the petitioners, if any in the next Board meeting.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the direction has been issued for consideration in a next meeting as per convenience of the authorities. It is submitted that once the process has been initiated and the vacancies notified the convenience and

interest of the commuting public requires that the process be taken to it's logical conclusion.

3. The learned counsel for the State submits that he has no instructions whether the issue has already been considered or as to within how much time the same can be done.

4. Considering the rival submissions we consider it appropriate to specify a time frame for such consideration. We accordingly direct that the RTA, Alipore, South 24 Parganas take a final decision in terms of the order dated 28.04.2025 passed by the Hon'ble Single Judge in W.P.A. 3446 of 2025 within eight weeks from the date of receipt/production of a coy of this order before the RTA. We have modified the order of the Hon'ble Single Judge to this limited extent only.

5. The appeal stands disposed of in the above terms and the application is also disposed of.
