Affidavit-of-service filed in Court is taken on record.

The writ petitioner has applied for electricity connection at premises No. 49, Dakshin Behala Road, Kolkata 700061. The licensee CESC has agreed to grant such connection to the petitioner and the petitioner has paid the requisite fees and deposits therefor.

When the CESC went to install meter at the place set up by the writ petitioner, the private respondent has objected and obstructed.

It is submitted that the petitioner was enjoying electricity from the private respondent earlier. The private respondent is the owner of an adjacent plot.

In that view of the matter, the Officer-inCharge, Thakurpukur Police Station shall render all assistance at the cost of the petitioner, to the CESC in installing electricity meter and connection.

The CESC shall install meter and grant connection at the common meter board in the said premises preferably within a period of two weeks from the date.

With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
