The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on 30th April, 2016. He received his terminal benefits of Rs. 24,45,263/- on 21.09.2016. 3.

The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from 01.05.2016 to 21.09.2016 at the rate of 6 percent per annum. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date. 4.

In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum. 5.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
