In the matter of : Musaraf Molla @ Mosaraf Hossain ..... Petitioner Mr. Dipankar Mondal .....For the Petitioner Mr. Madhu Sudan Sur, APP Mr. Manoranjan Mahata.....for the State By an order dated December 10, 2019, passed in C.R.R. No. 3586 of 2019, a coordinate Bench of this Court directed the learned trial Court to make an endeavour to complete the trial of the N.D.P.S case no. 300 of 2017 under Section 21(C)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, pending before the Court of the learned Judge, Special Court cum Additional Sessions Judge, 2nd Court, Berhampore, Murshidabad within a reasonable time.

The petitioner renews his prayer by filing this application. It has been submitted that out of 17 witnesses, seven witnesses have been examined so far.

In the Pandemic situation, it cannot be expected that the learned Judge in the Court below will proceed with the trial at the usual pace.

In that view of the matter, the revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the Additional Sessions Judge in the Court below to make an endeavour to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one year from the date of resumption of the normal functioning of the Court.

Accordingly, CRR 1570 of 2021 is disposed of. All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
