An affidavit has been filed by the petitioner annexing the receipt dated 20th May, 2024 showing payment of Rs.20,000/- (twenty thousand only) in the Treasury of the High Court.

Mr. Lalit Mohan Mahata, learned advocate who is appearing for the State respondents in this matter is requested to place a plan for afforestation for increasing the green cover in the precincts of the High Court by utilizing the aforesaid fund.

Necessary direction will be passed on the adjourned date for transferring the amount in the account of the authority responsible for plantation of trees.

In the affidavit, the petitioner has sought for six months' time to vacate the structure which is liable to be demolished being found to be an unauthorized one. Since the order of demolition is pending execution since 2018, accordingly, the Court is not inclined to grant six months' time for vacating as prayed for.

The petitioner is directed to vacate the structure by 31st July, 2024.

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation shall take steps for demolition of the unauthorized structure on and from the 1st August, 2024. The demolition shall be carried out on day to day basis till the entire construction, both internal and external, is brought down completely. The Officer-in-Charge, Ekbalpur Police Station is directed to render all necessary help and cooperation to the men and agents of the Corporation at the time of execution of the order of demolition.

Let the matter appear in the list on 17th June, 2024 under the heading "To Be Mentioned" for placing the afforestation plan.
