Petitioner is in custody since 18th September, 2021. Report submitted by Mr. Mukherji, learned Public Prosecutor reflects that the next date has been fixed for evidence on and from 20th February, 2023. Report submitted by SI of Police, Gaighata PS, Bongaon PD through the Office of the learned Public Prosecutor, High Court be kept with the record In view of the detention of the petitioner for more than one year four months, I direct the learned trial court to expedite the progress of the trial.

In case any of the witnesses are not appearing in court, the learned trial court would issue notice to the office of the Superintendent of Police in view of the direction passed by this court in CRR 3633 of 2022. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. The trial of the case should proceed in

spite of any resolution taken by the local Bar. All efforts must be taken to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 2034 of 2022 is disposed of.
